Horse back riding is a popular sport in Denmark. Many enjoy viewing nature from horse back, where you have a chance to get close to the wild animals, and cover large distances.
Hotel Kommandørgården on Rømø has Iceland horses. There are altogether 70 lovely Iceland horses, which gladly carry experienced as well as in-experienced riders on their backs. There are 1 and 2 hour tours, whole and half day tours where the destination is 2 Wadden Sea lakes; Rømø and Mandø as well as tours to the 24 m2 sand bank Koresand. The Iceland horse is interesting, as it has 5 paces instead of the usual 3. The most comfortable pace is the “tølt”, where the mixture of running and walking makes riding easy for beginners. The Iceland horse has a calm temper which makes it perfect for children. NERBALLE HESTEFERIE A holiday with horses at Løgumkloster Welcome to Nerballe FERIEGÅRDEN The holiday farm has been restored, so that the farmhouse is now furnished and decorated in a cosy, old-fashioned style.
